The Animals

b-kleintiere.jpgChildren love animals, and in the country it is easy to get in contact with them. There are for example the Angus cows with their calves. Smaller children are amazed by these huge animals and love watching them from a distance, while the bigger kids often want to know how a calf is born and why we don’t milk our cows here.

It is the same with our horses. While the little ones reluctantly pat the fur and are led around the farm on horseback, bigger kids want to get more hands on involved, which is what they can do during our course ‘child and horse‘ where they can learn in a playful atmosphere how to care for a horse.

Our rabbit enclosure is particularly popular with the children. They can hold the animals and cuddle them. And while they help with their morning  feeds at 9am you may even be able to have a leisurely breakfast on your own.

It isn’t easy observing birds‘ nests in the wild. It is different with swallows‘ nests in a stable, and of those we have plenty.

You can observe some wild animals here from the farm as they inhabit the nearby cliffs. The cliffs host peregrine falcons and eagle owls, but also chamoises which have been repatriated here years ago. In the Danube river you can find trout, beavers and ring snakes, and in the forest you might find foxes or deer.
