Farming Tradition

b-wappen.jpgThe municipality of Thiergarten has a colourful history. It was first mentioned in 1275 as a parish. A special find is the little church which is considered the smallest basilica with 3 naves and an apse North of the Alps.

Thiergarten is named after a game reserve which has been established by the local noblemen ‘von Zimmern‘, however, it ceased to exist a long time ago.

Our farm is located just outside Thiergarten and is heritage listed.

As you can see on our family crest, the Kaeppeler family has been around for a long time. Amongst others the astronomer Keppler is one of our ancestors. The farm, which is also referred to as the ‘Thiergarten Farm‘  is run by the third generation of Kaeppelers.
